Dayton police seek drivers who may have seen crash that killed motorcyclist

The Dayton Police Department wants to talk to three drivers who may have seen the July 30 crash on Interstate 75 that killed a Miamisburg motorcyclist.

Three vehicles — a black pickup truck, a box truck and a semitrailer — were close when the crash between the motorcycle and semi happened at 6:48 a.m. on I-75 South near Stanley Avenue, and police said the drivers may have information regarding the crash that shut down the highway in the area for more than five hours.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is asked to contact Dayton police detective Derric McDonald of the Traffic Services Unit at 937-333-1141.

The motorcyclist killed in the crash was identified as 42-year-old Stephen Downey.
